- Navigate to the Windows Control Panel

- Open "User Accounts" ("Users and passwords" for WIN2000)

- Depending on your operating system's configuration, one of the following will be true if you have administrator rights:

- (Generally on a work computer) There will be an 'Advanced' tab.

- (Generally on a home computer) The label "Computer administrator" appears below your sign-on name.
