Global financial expert and CEO Jim Ameduri appointed to PSPRS Board of Trustees
"Exactly the right skillset," Chairman Buividas says of Ameduri

ARIZONA – Jim Ameduri, the CEO and Managing Partner of Alize Ventures and a global investment expert with three decades in the industry, has recently been appointed to the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Board of Trustees.

Ameduri began his career as a financier and investment manager before founding his own firm in 1992. He has since built and managed a succession of companies, and has structured business transactions globally. Ameduri’s restructuring work frequently has focused on operations and capital efficiency, and managing companies in transition.

“Mr. Ameduri has exactly the right skillset for a trustee,” said PSPRS Board of Trustees Chairman Will Buividas, a veteran City of Phoenix police officer. “He combines extensive experience in creating and leading companies with a keen understanding of investment markets and board governance.”

Ameduri was nominated to the PSPRS Board by the Arizona League of Cities and Towns and appointed by the Speaker of the Arizona House, Rep. Rusty Bowers. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Youngstown State University, Ameduri earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as a Director of ESalt Media Technologies; Chairman of the Board for Capax World, a nonprofit focused on sustainable solutions to global poverty; a Director of the Arizona State University Foundation Investment Committee; and a Director of the Arizona Community Foundation, where he serves on the Investment and Special Assets Committees.

State law requires that civilian members of the PSPRS Board of Trustees have at least 10 years of substantial experience in fiduciary investments, economics, actuarial sciences, senior executive banking, and public pension management or as a chartered financial analyst.

“Jim Ameduri makes an outstanding addition to a board that shares the goal of serving our members, employers and taxpayers,” said Administrator Jared Smout. “We have a great board and staff that will continue the work necessary to help PSPRS, CORP, and EORP recover and provide for our members for generations to come.”

With his appointment, Ameduri adds even greater financial expertise to the civilian board membership that includes:

  • Scott McCarty: City of Queen Creek finance director and League of Arizona Cities and Towns Pension Task Force chairman. More than 30 years of government budgeting and financial management.
  • Harry A. Papp: Managing partner of L. Roy Papp & Associates, LLP, as well as a former acquisition manager for G.D. Searle & Co. Chartered financial analyst with 40 years of experience analyzing securities.
