Scammers like to disguise themselves as trusted resources—like a pension system, a bank or other financial resource—by using faked email accounts, phone numbers, or websites. This is called spoofing. The goal is to trick people into sharing personal details, like login information or banking details. Be alert and if anything seems off, go directly to the PSPRS website rather than following a link in an email.

It’s always a good idea to double-check the sender’s email address or the caller’s number. If the contact makes the action feel urgent in a suspicious way contact PSPRS directly using our official phone number or website. Never click on suspicious links or provide personal information in response to a request like this. Remember, PSPRS will never ask for your password or full Social Security number over email or text.

If you’re ever unsure, PSPRS is here to help. You can reach our call center staff at (602) 255-5575.
